Medical Malpractice – Defendant’s Verdict

In May of 2017, Geoffrey H. Pforr obtained a defendant’s verdict against a prominent plaintiff’s attorney in an action venued in Supreme Court, Suffolk County. The infant plaintiff, who was 16 years old at the time of trial, claimed that when he was two weeks old, our client, a pediatrician, failed to timely diagnose and treat respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) leading to cardiopulmonary arrest. As a result of subsequent treatment necessitated by the arrest, the infant plaintiff suffered growth plate disturbance in his left lower extremity leading to three leg lengthening procedures and at least one more leg lengthening procedure in the future.
